[I know most of you would like to get the inside scoop on the new site and the Morph Cloudserver but allow me to spoil this a bit more and get this one off first. Thanks.]
Been trying to recall the things we did a couple of weeks ago and lost amidst the catastrophe of the Typhoon Ondoy flooding was the great time we spent the week before preaching the values of the different open source licenses to young audiences studying IT and computer programming from DLSU and UP.
Students from both schools were treated to a heaping of information courtesy of Marica Tan, one of G2iX's celebrated young tech achievers. Her talk centered on open source licenses and how aspiring developers will need to learn about them to be on the safe side. Marica went on to carefully list down and compare various licenses - from GPL to BSD, MIT to Apache, in the simplest possible terms by which the students will able to relate. View the slides here.

It is G2iX's hope that with all these efforts, students will be able to create their own career and work path via the open source route. As we often tell them, in open source, their achievements will resonate a bit more as it brings them face to face with the power of collaboration with other individuals, as well as community, on a global scale.
Props to Pinoy Drupal Evangelist Marc Robinsone for joining us and sharing his talents during that memorable day, too.
