Partners with Exist Global to deliver innovative "made for SaaS" applications to address growing demand for SaaS based applications and Web 2.0 services.
Manila, Philippines - August 10, 2007 - Morph Labs, Inc., the collaborative innovation company, marks its corporate launch with the introduction of its technology and business incubation platform, designed to stimulate Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Web 2.0 growth in Asia. Morph, in partnership with Exist Global, premiere smartsourcer of software engineering services, offers subscriber-supported and hosted web applications, delivered through a platform with the flexibility, efficiency and simplicity necessary to build, drive and transform the SaaS industry in Asia.
"The opportunity for SaaS is being powered by the rapid commoditization of IT infrastructure and various business applications, the rise of open source software and the growing acceptance of using applications that are hosted by an external vendor. This (opportunity for SaaS) presents an incredible window for Morph to collaborate with ISVs and aspiring entrepreneurs to co-create applications and web services that are delivered through a common infrastructure (managed by Morph)," said Winston Damarillo, founder of Morph Labs.
Exist Global understands the emergence of SaaS and Web 2.0 technologies, and will be a key partner to Morph in developing its software infrastructure. In another very important aspect of the partnership, Exist will use the Morph SaaS infrastructure to build SaaS-ready applications for its clients. "Exist's unique ability to offer services and infrastructure for deploying SaaS applications will give our customers a major advantage in terms of both time-to-market and total cost of development and deployment," said Steve Nathan, CEO of Exist Global.
In addition to forming partnerships, Morph is also allocating resources to fund promising entrepreneurs with great ideas for SaaS based applications. Morph's incubation platform will allow entrepreneurs to build, deliver, market and monitor SaaS and Web 2.0 solutions more easily and effectively.
SaaS is a software application delivery model in which an application function is delivered through a subscription model or on-demand basis over the web. Via SaaS, customers rent a total solution, accessed and delivered through the web. With the SaaS business model, customers can reduce up-front and unexpected costs that accompany deployment and maintenance of a variety of traditional software applications and simply focus on their core business objectives.
BusinessWeek reports that SaaS is now accepted by organizations of different sizes. The scalability of next-generation SaaS solutions enables users to test the capabilities of on-demand applications in limited deployment and expand their adoption incrementally. This rise in adoption is also precipitated by an increase in SaaS awareness, mounting from 41% in 2006 to 75% in 2007. This study, based on Springboard Research Report, queried 385 CIOs and IT decision-makers at enterprises in Australia, China, India, New Zealand, and Singapore.
Springboard Research adds that the market size of SaaS (in Asia, excluding Japan) is expected to reach US $282 million this year, an incredible 83% growth from last year's US $154 million. The report also indicates an impressive US $1.16 billion market value forecast in the SaaS market in Asia (excluding Japan) by 2010, based on a 66% CAGR. By then, SaaS will comprise 15% of the enterprise software application market, with market penetration going beyond CRM.
Morph anticipates adding 1-2 new offerings per quarter from its SaaS marketplace. Its first Web 2.0 application will be released in Q4 2007.
