DevCon Luzon and DevCon MAPUA (Part 2 from DevCon Mindanao)

It's happening once again and this time, DevCon will gather Filipino geeks in MAPUA Makati on Feb. 6 and in Metro Manila side-by-side the 10th year of eServices on Feb 9.

DEVCON or Developers Connect is a premier gathering of Filipino 'geeks', that embraces global best practices for skills improvement and professional advancement, encouraging collaboration, interaction, and mentoring among developers and academe in an informal setting where IT spells fun.  In a word, a showcase of IT Pinoy Talent!

Through the Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA) Marketing Committee, DEVCON was born. DEVCON was launched in Cebu in June 2009 as DEVCON Visayas. The latter's success brought forth the idea and reality of a Mindanao and Luzon leg, all to promote the quality and quantity of IT practitioners to push forward the IT industry in the Philippines.

In less than a year, DEVCON has already become a buzzword in the local IT world as it made its appearance not only in the major cities, but also in the “next wave” cities of Sta. Rosa, Cavite, Lipa, Davao, Bacolod, Clark, Cagayan de Oro, Malolos, and Iloilo, as a featured event in the ten-city roadshow run by the Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT) and the Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPAP).  And yet, the best is saved for last, as the biggest and grandest of all—DEVCON Philippines--has yet to come later this year.

Join us in the three main events that make an original DEVCON: Lightning Talks or fast-paced presentations of the newest technology by the experts themselves; Birds of a Feather for either like-minded discussions or intense debates on a mutual topic of interest; and the coding marathon that is Hackathon where real programmers shine through hands-on demonstrations and/or joint coding onsite.  And when we speak of original DEVCON, we speak of beer and pizza, the so-called staple food of developers.

G2iX technology advocates Deng Ching, Jo Eduardo, Aaron Tinio, and Alain Yap will be at both events. See you there!
